Window of Imagination

During the 2023 art residency in Munich, Shun Chih started a project called "Window of Imagination", which invited children to explore extraordinary ways of seeing and draw what they saw from differ­ ent perspectives, ultimately creating a series of sculptures that combined others' views. He guided the children to observe the structure and material of the window itself, extending the scenery and atmosphere inside and outside the window, allow­ ing them to speculate on the multiple meanings of the object "window" from different spatial, emotional, and perceptual perspectives. In the process, the children drew the scenery in their eyes, and ab­stractly expressed their inner world. In addition to cultivating children's artistic creativity, it allows them to think more deeply about the relationship between people and things. Shun Chih believes that windows serve not only as a physical frame but also as a metaphorical frame of thinking, helping us to reflect on the connection between ourselves and space while observing the material world.
